The "Original PAF Humbucker" set is Monty's flagship humbucker model.The ideal is a faithful reproduction of the PAF (Patent Applied For) pickup installed in the 1958-1960 Les Paul Standard, as close to the original as physically possible.The sound that comes from it is the finest tone.

Through teardowns, research, and study of the original "PAF", Monty's believes he has captured the sonic essence of the early "PAF" humbuckers designed by Seth Lover.
The winding machines of those days were very primitive, and there were individual differences in resistance, coil balance, magnetic strength, etc., so some of them had mediocre sounds.That being said, the experience you get when you come across a wonderful "PAF" is something you can't get anywhere else.

Monty's ideal "PAF" tone is a fusion of the three-dimensional, rich sound of a humbucker and the clarity of a single coil.It produces an open sound with rich harmonics, and responds faithfully to your playing style, giving you a beautiful, clear sound when you play lightly, and a powerful sound when you play hard.

Monty's has used his experience with various PAFs through repairing many PAFs and maintaining Les Pauls from the late 1950s to the early 1960s, and has noticed a certain combination of magnetic force, output, and coil balance that is common to the best examples.This "Original PAF Humbucker" set is a faithful reproduction of the "perfect recipe."

Also, like the original PAF, it is not wax potted, so it has a very sensitive and dynamic response.Because the coils are wound with a slight difference in resistance, the high-frequency response is greatly improved.
