Goldmine Grading Standard

MMint (M)

  • Perfect condition in every way
  • Never played and possibly still sealed
  • No visible defects, marks, or wear

NM / M-Near Mint (NM or M-)

  • Almost perfect condition
  • No obvious signs of wear or damage
  • May have been played, but handled with extreme care
  • Highest practical grading used by most collectors

VG+Very Good Plus (VG+)

  • Light signs of use
  • Minor surface marks or light scratches
  • Should not affect playback significantly
  • Clean and well-maintained overall

VGVery Good (VG)

  • Noticeable wear and signs of use
  • Surface noise may be present, especially in quieter parts
  • Light scratches and scuffs visible
  • Still playable without skipping

G / G+Good (G / G+)

  • Significant wear and surface noise
  • Scratches and marks clearly visible
  • Playback is continuous but with noticeable imperfections
  • Sleeve may have damage, writing, or tears

P / FPoor (P) / Fair (F)

  • Heavily damaged or warped
  • May skip, repeat, or not play properly
  • Severe wear, cracks, or major defects
  • Sleeve and packaging are in very poor condition

Notes

  • Standard jewel cases are usually not graded as they are replaceable
  • "Generic" refers to non-original sleeves or packaging

This grading system is widely used in the record collecting community.
