As the second generation of Kono Guitar Manufacturing, classical guitar maker Sakurai Masaki inherited a professional-quality, high-quality guitar that adhered to the designs and techniques of his teacher Kono Ken.

His detailed design and deep musical sensibility have earned him highly praise both in Japan and abroad, and today the works of the late Sakurai are valuable, and this instrument boasts aged sound and a high level of perfection unique to Sakurai guitars.

The popular model "EXCELLENT" has arrived this time, made in 1998.The label includes the model name and year of manufacture, "MASAKI SAKURAI M.KOHNO WORKSHOP."

The body is thought to be made of spruce, the sides and back are rosewood, the neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard is ebony.Nut width is 52mm and string length is approximately 650mm.

The clear, neat, well-lit tone is very attractive, and the sustain is also very stretchy, and the balance between the high and low notes is also excellent.The decorations are also well decorated, indicating that the product is carefully crafted.Many of the fans are captivated by this, and it can be said that it is a high-quality domestic classical guitar that is full of security.

Unfortunately, Sakurai passed away in 2025 and no new works will be released in the future.For this reason, representative works from the 1990s have been re-evaluated in recent years in terms of collector's value and practicality.If you're looking for it, please hurry.
