Gibson J-45 ADJ 1966-1969
The Gibson J-45 has continued to support players around the world for 80 years since its release in 1942.This is a representative model of Gibson acoustics that continues to be loved over time.
This time, the precious 60's original "J-45" has arrived!
The serial number is "800352" and has a "2" notation.Based on the chronology listed on Gibson's official website, it is believed to have been manufactured between 1966 and 1969.
Pickguard with "Gibson" logo, adjustable saddle specification.Since around 1965, the head angle has been approximately 14 degrees (before 1965 it was approximately 17 degrees), and the nut width has been approximately 39 mm.This neck grip makes it easy to play barre chords, and is especially popular among Japanese singers. This J-45 from the late 1960s is used not only by Takuro Yoshida, but also by Kazuyoshi Saito, Motohiro Hata, and other singers who follow a playing style.
With its traditional sunburst finish color, polished personality, and lovely round shoulder body shape, it is easy to hold, and can be said to be one of Gibson's identities.
It has a woody and crisp sound that is typical of vintage instruments, the dignified dense weather check, and the Jacaranda fingerboard look, which is very tasteful.Although the number of frets has been reduced considerably, the string height is standard and it is not particularly difficult to play, so it seems that you can use it without any stress at present.
It goes without saying that the tone is vastly different from the current model, but it was a great piece that showed how difficult it is to analyze the specifications and sounds of vintage J-45s and try to recreate them at the custom shop.
