Notes
Recorded live at the Mt. Fuji Blue Note Festival on August 31, 1986.Catalog number without hyphen on jacket; with hyphen on center labels.
Track A1 is identified as "Parisian Thoroughfare" on the jacket's track listing and "A Parisian Thoroughfare" on the A side label. A 1954 Bud Powell song, it is almost always listed elsewhere as "Parisian Thoroughfare" (though one of its first recordings, [m368609], identified it as "Parisienne Thorofare").
Album issued in a paper inner sleeve titled BLUE NOTES, VOL. 87-1. Both sides contain a newsletter about the label's music, people and projects. At the bottom right of one side, the sleeve is identified as "MIC # 51510 3/87".
Inserted into the jacket is an 8.5-by-11 sheet of paper. One side is labeled AN OPEN LETTER in which 20 artists ask fans not to make tape recordings of the album for friends. The other side is an advertisement for 13 recent Blue Note releases and a coupon to sign up for receiving a Blue Note catalog and newsletters. On the bottom side of this page are the identifiers "MIC #61450" in the lower left and "2/87" in the lower right.
