Since Masayoshi Takanaka, Carlos Santana, and Issei Noro used Yamaha's SG, Yamaha's SG series from this era is still extremely popular and has many users.

It became even more popular when it became known that John Frusciante, who returned to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, also used it.

The ``SG-3000'' is the culmination of the Yamaha SG series, and while maintaining the through-neck structure inherited from the ``SG-2000,'' it uses a T-cross one-piece structure with maple on the top, which is extremely time-consuming, and a medium scale.
In addition, the body binding is luxuriously made of Mexican Avalon, which has been used for the first time since the SG-175, and the entire body is unified with gold, giving it a very gorgeous look.

The controls are 2Vol, 2Tone (push/push), and a 3way toggle selector, and this model is equipped with a pickup that uses Spinex, a newly developed material that Yamaha was the first in the world to successfully commercialize, as a magnet, making it easier for players to express their touch and nuances without sacrificing the clarity of the high range.

In addition, by installing a bi-sound system (coil tap), it is possible to create a tighter and sharper sound.

Although the serial number has faded, I can read "SKIH 004" and thought it was made in 1988, but the pickup date has a date of January 1987 written on the back, and the warranty card that came with it is from the same year, so I believe it was made in 1987.

The pickguard with "Professional" printed on it also comes with a metal gold-colored pickguard, so you can have it all gold.

This is an extremely high quality SG that shows the spirit of Yamaha at the time, trying new things while using standard wood materials, and trying to create something unique to Yamaha that was different from Gibson or Fender.

With the current condition (12F, 1.7mm on the 1st string side and 2.1mm on the 6th string side), there are no parts that interfere with play such as clogging the sound, but I think it will be difficult when playing with a low string height.
