Gibson L-7C 1963 #63480
Gibson's "L-7C", which was introduced in 1948 and sold until 1972, is a cutaway version of the "L7".This is a popular model as a mid-to-high-end model in Gibson's archtop guitar lineup.
This time, a 1963 "L-7C" with serial number "63480" has arrived.
The main features include the powerful live sound of the 17-inch body, double parallel grams fingerboard inlay, and Venetian cutaway. The wood material is probably spruce top, maple back & sides, and maple neck, and the fingerboard and bridge are Jacaranda or rosewood. It has a vintage-like wild wood grain, and the weather check that naturally comes in as it ages, making it a comfortable piece with a warm wood tone.
At that time, it seems that there was an option to install a pickup, but this one is not installed.
At present, the pegs and other parts remain almost the same as the original, but the rod cover has been replaced, the refret and nut have been replaced, and the cracked bridge has been fixed, so it is in perfect playing condition, and the string height is low, making it very easy to play.
It has been 60 years since it was produced, so it has not been scratched, dented, weather checked, or penetrated, but there are some signs of use such as cracks on the back, but that gives it a taste, and it has an attractive antique feel that makes you feel good just by having it in your home.
