In 1976, Yamaha developed the SG2000 with Carlos Santana.In order to meet Santana's request for ``maximizing sustain,'' it is equipped with unique features such as a T-cross maple top, through-neck construction, and a brass sustain block, resulting in a highly original specification.
Six months after the release of the ``SG2000,'' the ``SG-1000'' was born as a model that responded to the demands of players seeking traditional rock sounds.

Instead of a dark, sustain-rich through-neck & brass sustain block, a set-neck structure is used to pursue a bright, punchy sound.It has a maple top and mahogany back, the same body material as the Les Paul, but it has a very high level of perfection, showing the enthusiasm of Yamaha at the time to create something unique to Gibson and Fender.

It is true that this unique texture called Japan Vintage is clearly different in quality from Gibson's, and it has an atmosphere that is neatly put together and easy to use.Fewer people are letting go of items from this age group, and many people are still looking for them.It is known that John Frusciante, who has returned to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, mainly uses the SG-2000, making it even more popular.
