DEAN Razorback V 255 Classic Black with Yellow Bevels 2007
Dean Razorback V 255 Classic Black with Yellow Bevels 2007
In September 2004, Dimebag Darrell, known for Pantera and Damageplan, provided two new designs for DEAN (Dean Guitars). The first, the Razorback, was hailed as the coolest metal guitar ever made, and DEAN CEO Elliott Rubinson said, ``Everyone loves the shape.'' ``I think it will sell better than a regular Razorback.''
This time, the V-shaped "Razorback V 255" with such an episode has arrived.
The scale length of the regular Razorback V is 24.75 inches and 22 frets, but the 255 features a longer Strat-style scale of 25.5 inches and 24 frets.
This length is meant to appeal to guitarists who prefer down-tuned riffs. The specifications at the time of 2004 were that the "Razorback V" was supposed to be equipped with Seymour Duncan's "Dimebucker pickup," but the 255 is equipped with EMG's active "81" and "85."
This advanced design and specification had the risk of ruining the original goodness of the "Razorback V," but once you get your hands on the neck of the "Razorback V 255," any concerns that it might not have the same operability as the "Razorback V" quickly disappear.
Long scales can sometimes feel like they require a lot of effort to vibrato and bend, but the 255 is extremely smooth and expressive, with a spacious fingerboard, easy-to-grip neck profile, and a Floyd Rose that creates perfect sound and tuning stability.
If you are looking for power with this specification, you probably decided that active EMG is the best choice. Moreover, there is a reason why this 81/85 combination is the most famous. It has an incredible low-end grind that's great when strumming the bass strings, and a dark, menacing high tone that maintains sharp clarity.
Darrell and DEAN's collaboration guitar is a model that can be recommended to all metal guitarists, with a standard mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, and standard wood materials, and a design and sound that overwhelms others.
