GUILD D-40NT 1977

Guild is an American guitar manufacturer that is known as one of the three major acoustic guitar brands along with Martin Gibson.

The item that has arrived this time is the D-40 NT, a dreadnought style model released in 1963 under the name BLUEDRASS JUBILEE.It is made in 1977.Among Guild's production bases, which have undergone various changes, this one was made at the Westerly factory, which has been the longest and most consistently popular.

The top is Sitka spruce, the sides and back are mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are rosewood.

With its distinctive head logo and simple dot inlay, the overall appearance is neither too luxurious nor sarcastic. The string height is currently standard and the instrument is in easy-to-play condition.

In terms of Martin, it is a model that is positioned like the D-18, and because it uses mahogany, it has a powerful mid-low range and a clear high range.I was surprised at how loud and powerful the sound was.I was impressed by the unique depth and depth of the sound, which is not found in other brands, with the sense of separation of the strings in the Guild-like chord strokes and the firm resonance. It was very comfortable to play with my fingers, so I can see why it is used by a variety of artists regardless of genre.

If you were to find a vintage item of the same quality from Martin or Gibson, it would be very expensive, so I think this Guild item is a great value.
