Ibanez AM-205AV Artist 1987
Ibanez's full hollow model "AM-205" that appeared in 1982.Made in Japan, initial production was carried out by Fuji Gen, but after mid-1986 production moved to Terada Musical Instruments, which continued to manufacture its successor model, the AM200, until 1991.
Initially, it was part of the "Artist" series, and in 1987 it was moved to the newly established "Artstar" series.
The model that has arrived this time is the 1987 "AM-205AV" manufactured by Terada.Weight is 3.49kg.
"AM205" uses a compact semi-hollow double cutaway body with an antique violin color. The arched top is made of burl mahogany with f-holes and ivory multi-binding.The back and sides are also burl mahogany, with a maple center block.
The neck has a mahogany set neck construction, and features a 22-fret ebony fingerboard, ivory binding, pearl and abalon split block inlays, and a "SUPER EDITION" inlay on the 21st fret.
The pickup is equipped with two gold-covered "Ibanez Super 58" humbuckers, each with independent volume/tone controls. It features a Gibraltar II-style Tune-O-Matic bridge, Quik Change II tailpiece, cow bone nut, black pickguard, Sure Grip II knobs, Smooth Tuner pegs, and more.
There were sibling models such as the AM50, AM100, and AM70, and although production of the AM205 ended in 1987, it was quickly succeeded by its successor, the AM200.Since then, a new model with the same name has appeared again in 2014.It's a nice model with the look and sound suitable for Japan vintage.

This guitar is pretty nice.Ibanez has a strong impression of metal guitars, but it was originally a manufacturer that produced hollow models such as semi-acoustic guitars. The heathered grain is wonderful, and since it's made in Japan, it's well made and has a reliable finish. It was cheaper at the time, but it's still a bargain to be able to buy it for around 200,000 yen.Best of all, it looks great!
