Notes
Recorded in November of 1958, All Kinds Of Weather finds Red Garland heading up one of several late-fifties trio sessions at the Rudy Van Gelder studio in Hackensack, NJ. As always, the trio is formed by Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Art Taylor on drums. By the time this album was released these three men were intimately acquainted with each other, having performed and recorded together on numerous occasions, and it shows. Using ‘the weather’ as a common theme, this exceptional trio seamlessly performs standards like George Gershwin’s “Summertime” (from Porgy & Bess), “Stormy Weather” (originally written for Cab Calloway), and the classic Christmas tune, “Winter Wonderland”. Just one in a string of memorable late-fifties sides by Garland for Prestige.Barcode and Other Identifiers
