Artist: The Oscar Peterson Quartet
Oscar Peterson added guitar to his famous piano trio to create this four-piece band. By adding guitar to his usual trio, he achieved a thicker sound and a more complex ensemble.Around 1952, he added guitarist Barney Kessel to bassist Ray Brown and drummer Alvin Stoller, and in the late 1950s, when he added guitarist Herb Ellis, this period is considered to be Peterson's best work from his guitar trio days.
