Artist: ザ・スターリン (The Stalin)

Japanese punk band formed by activist Michiro Endo in Tokyo in 1980. He described choosing the name for two reasons: "The name Stalin is very hated by most people in Japan, so it is very good for our image," and, as a socialist, he felt Stalin represented "The downside to every good idea". The first incarnation of the band lasted until 1985. Endo formed other related groups including Video Stalin (1987-88), and Stalin (1988-1992). After the death of frontman Michiro, the band is continued by Jun Inui with various guest players and vocalists.
