Gibson Chet Att Kins School Try Genteman Sunrise Orange 1991
Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Sunrise Orange 1991
The Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman was produced from around 1986 until the mid-2000s.This is the electric model that was released next to Elegat's "Chet Atkins CE," which was created after Chet ended his Endorss contract with Gretsch after signing with Gibson.
The rounded profile neck is a maple/ebony fingerboard, and the position mark is finished in a red color like pink, giving it a similar impression to Gretsch thumbnail inlay.
It is said that the aim was to create a clear difference in appearance from Gretsch using this inlay.
The 17 inch thick body with a semi-hollow structure with an F-hole and Venetian cutaway dyed in a vibrant sunrise orange color gives it a similar impression to the 335, with the top, back and sides being made of flaming maple with a fleece grain.
The bridge is made of rosewood pedestals, with an ABR-1 and Bigsby, and the PU has a 492R on the front and a 490T on the rear, providing a low-output, clear, warm sound.
The controls include a 3-way pickup selector, two volumes, a master tone, and the master volume on the horn on the first string side, and this is a positional relationship that follows Gretsch.
The truss rod cover has the name "Chet Atkins" engraved, and the Gibson-engraved Scharler peg is also unique in that by pulling out the metal fittings on the side, you can quickly turn the pegs when changing strings, etc.
It's a special model that you wouldn't expect from Gibson's production, but the amazing thing about it is that it has a strong Gibson feel to its sound.
An interesting model that shows the unique attention to detail that is unique to the legendary Chet Atkins.
The play conditions are excellent and it's an immediate use piece.
