Masaki Sakurai, a classical guitar maker, is the second generation of Kono Guitar Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and has inherited the professional quality guitars that follow the designs and methods of his master, Ken Kono, under the name "Sakurai Kono."

Its precise design and deep musical sensibility have earned it high praise both domestically and internationally, and today the works of the late Mr. Sakurai are considered valuable, and this instrument also boasts a mature sound and the high level of perfection that only Sakurai guitars can provide.

This time we have arrived the popular model "EXCELLENT", made in 1998.The label states "MASAKI SAKURAI M.KOHNO WORKSHOP", the model name, and the year of manufacture.

The body is spruce, the sides and back are rosewood, the neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard is ebony.The nut width is 52mm and the string length is approximately 650mm.

The transparent, neat, and well-defined tone is very attractive, the sustain is very flexible, and the balance between high and low frequencies is excellent.The decorations are well-decorated, and you can see that they were made with great care.It's no wonder that so many users are fascinated by it, and it can be said that it's a high-quality domestic classical guitar that gives you a sense of security.

Unfortunately, Mr. Sakurai passed away in 2025, and no new works will be produced in the future.For this reason, masterpieces from the 1990s in particular have been reevaluated in recent years for their collector value and practicality.If you are looking for it, please hurry.
