The "Les Paul Custom" appeared in 1954 as a high-end model of Gibson's signature model.This time, the special model "50th Anniversary 1968 Les Paul Custom" released by Gibson Custom Shop in 2018, which is the 50th anniversary since the birth of the popular 1968 specification custom, is now available in a limited edition of 300 pieces.Weight is 4.23kg.

In the summer of 1968, Gibson made a significant update to the Les Paul Custom in the form of a previously unprecedented reproduction.Significantly different from the 1950s specs, it is the first to use a mahogany back and solid maple top, 2 humbuckers, and a 14-degree head angle to reduce string tension and improve playability.This specification matches the trends of the era when rock sound was established, so it is still used by many rock guitarists.

This 50th anniversary model faithfully reproduces these groundbreaking features.It features a long neck tenon structure, a ``medium C'' neck profile, a 12-inch radius ebony fingerboard, and a ``68 Custom Humbucker'' (pickup manufacturing date is 2016, and is a stock product developed by former Historic Product Manager Edwin Wilson when he was with the company), which is not installed on other models, to provide an authentic vintage experience.

A "Hand Selected" certificate is also included, indicating that the selected wood is used.``Black Beauty'' has a sophisticated and beautiful appearance like a tuxedo, with a combination of carefully selected gold hardware such as waffle back pegs and sombrero knobs, a black color, and a VOS finish, and is a dream come true for many guitarists.
It is also an excellent collector's item, including the included 1968 replica hard case.
