Kid's Guitar BM-Special (Brian May Red Special) 90's Cherry Red

The Kid's brand, which was established in the late 1980s and discontinued in 1999, is famous for being used by famous artists such as Lenny Kravitz and Brian May. It was founded by former ESP factory manager and luthier Hiroshi Kido, and was passionate about creating one-of-a-kind guitars that stood out among the Japanese guitar market.Using carefully selected high-quality wood, we create replicas of Gibson, Fender, and Zemaitis.Currently, it is difficult to obtain, so it is considered to be one of the highly rated and rare brands like Japan Vintage.

This time, a replica of Brian May's beloved machine "Red Special", which sparked the brand, has arrived.Weight is 2.75kg.

There are four models of this Red Special, spanning different grades and years, and it seems that it was sold only on a made-to-order basis, as well as on orders from musical instrument stores, but there is a story that due to its high level of perfection, there were troubles with the owner over the rights, which led to a lawsuit.

This guitar that has arrived this time is lightweight, so it is likely to be a "BM-Special" that uses a semi-hollow structure. Not only does it look almost exactly like the real thing, but the tremolo system, pickup, bridge, control knobs, etc. are all reproduced.

The body appears to be mahogany, with a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, and dot inlays.Three "Tri-Sonic" style pickups are connected to a phase switch and an on/off switch. It features pearl button Schaller tuners, a roller bridge, and Brian's cool tremolo design for rock-solid stability. The finish is cherry red and is accented with single-layer binding.

Nowadays, Burns London's signature model and Kz Guitar Works' models are the main ones on the market, but I think the sound and playing feel of this one is quite different compared to those.Don't miss this opportunity to take a look at Kid's signature guitars, which in the 1990s aimed to create the best replicas and produced guitars with a quality that even the artists themselves were surprised by.
