Fender Mustang 1972 Competition Burgundy

Fender's Mustang has a small body, short scale neck, and unique vibrato unit.It is known as a "mustang" that is difficult to ride due to its unruly sound and tuning, and is loved by many guitarists such as Kurt Cobain and Mr. Char as an instrument with a maniacal appeal. It is a famous model as it was also used in the popular anime “K-ON”!

This individual has a neck date of ``16 APR 72B,'' and the body is a dark green color with a competition line and is covered with weather checks, giving it a dignified look.Adopting a dark rosewood 22F fingerboard, it has a vintage style.Weight is 3.2kg.

The gray bobbin pickup has a 1972 stamp, the pot date is made in 1972, and the slide switch and capacitor are original. The nut is also original, but has been adjusted to suit the purpose of rubbing.

The controls are 1 volume, 1 tone, and the 3-position slide switch in the control section is set to ON/OFF/opposite phase ON (= swapping positive and negative). When used individually, the sound will be the same regardless of the phase, but if you play both at the same time and one is out of phase, it is possible to create an "out-of-phase sound" in which the midrange is distinctive but the highs stand out.

The short scale and light sound of the Mustang makes it difficult to maintain stable tuning, but once you get used to playing it, the feel of the separation of the strings when playing an open chord with a crunch feels very good. This is a genuine Mustang made from high quality wood from the 70's and rarely available.
It has almost completely original specifications, the color is rare, and the three-lined look is great, and it has a vintage sound typical of Fender, making it recommended for those who want to ride a shrew.
