G&L L-1000 1980 (CLF Research)
G&L L-1000 1980 (CLF Research)
"G&L" was founded in 1972 by Fender's founder, Leo Fender, along with George Fullerton.Today, the factory in Fullerton, California continues to produce just the way Leo wanted it to.The workshop has remained exactly as it was since the day of his death, and is constantly visited by music lovers from all over the world.
This time, we have received Leo Fender's first masterpiece, the 1980 G&L L-1000, which holds the last soul of Leo Fender. The color is natural and the weight is approximately 4.15kg.
シリアル「B-001625」がブリッジプレートに刻印されており、ネックポケットには「NOV1980」の表記があります。The number is close to "B000518", which is said to be the smallest serial number manufactured in 1980, and is a rare piece from the CLF research period, the first year of the brand's creation. The interior, including the pot, is still the original made in 1980.
1980年の「L-1000」は、カリフォルニアの「CLF Research」工房にてハンドメイドで組み上げられ、レオ自身が直接設計・監修したパーツを使用。The serial number "B-00xxxx" was only produced for a very short period of time, and it is said that there are very few of them in existence.
It incorporates a lot of Leo's ideas from the time, such as a body design that follows the flow of old Fender basses, practical and original hardware, and electronics that create a wide variety of tone variations.
It has a body that appears to be swamp ash, a maple neck, and a 21F rosewood fingerboard. You can also see the attention to detail in the hardware, such as the medium jumbo frets, G&L's unique bridge and pegs. The pickup is equipped with a "G&L Magnetic Field Design" humbucker. It has a sense of range and density that sets it apart from conventional passive pickups, and is also equipped with a 3-mode switch including the legendary "OMG" mode.
You can switch between Parallel mode, Split/Single Coil mode, and OMG mode (adds a 0.1μF capacitor to one coil to emphasize bass).Other controls are volume, treble, bass and simple.
The bass, also known as ``Wunk,'' which cannot be experienced with the ``L-2000,'' has some enthusiastic fans because it has a unique texture that is unique to the ``L-1000.''The ultra-thin neck lacquer and bullet truss rod specifications used only in the very early models are also extremely rare.It is clearly different from mass-produced machines after 1981, which is a point that supports the value of collector's grade.
Since this item rarely appears on the market, it can be said to be more than just a vintage piece, and is a historical witness to the intersection of innovation and tradition. This is a highly recommended piece for both performers and collectors.
