発売当初はLP2枚+EP1枚で発売された。初回特典はポスターが付き、特別ピクチャーレーベル仕様だった。
1979年に行われた日本武道館、篠島、静岡市民文化会館でのライブを収録している。
1990年3月21日に、『TAKURO TOUR 1979 Vol.2 落陽』とセットにし、『COMPLETE TAKURO TOUR 1979』というタイトルでCD化、(3枚組) しかし収録されている「ペニーレインでバーボン」に「つんぼ桟敷」という差別用語とも受け取れる言葉が含まれていることから、生産が中止された。その後この曲の収録を見送り、2009年11月25日に、SHM-CDで再発売された。
1970年代のキャリアの集大成的なものになっている。
A6: 斉藤哲夫の曲のカバー。ライブバージョン以外は存在しない。
E1: 20分近い演奏が収録されている。
