This repackaged reissue has a redesigned inner gatefold righthand panel and redesigned back cover.Inner gatefold right is primarily a blue field for original liner notes with an additional liner note dated "5/87" (i.e., May 1987) setting this reissue in the context of Berry becoming "a founding member of the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame" and celebrating his 60th birthday. Redesign also includes a gray field for discographical information below the liner notes.
Redesigned back cover features CHUCK BERRY printed in large blue letters on yellow background with liner text from original back cover above and track listing below.
On jacket: no mention of Sugar Hill Records. "CH2-92500" printed on jacket spine, jacket's front, back, & inner gatefold at bottom right. Does not have angled checkerboard strip across front jacket's top. "Original Chess Masters" logo at front jacket's 3:00. UPC on jacket's reverse upper right. Chess/MCA Records logo on jacket reverse's bottom left, followed by copyright particulars (1984 MCA Records Inc.), company info.
On some copies of this release, labels for record 1 are aqua blue color and labels on record 2 are a purple blue color; for others all labels are aqua blue.
