Years ago, when I first started giving jazz concerts on the west coast, our original home was the Los Angeles Philharmonic Auditorium; in fact, that's how the title "Jazz at the Philharmonic" got its start. We have released a whole series of albums from these various concerts, and are up to the sixteenth volume now. All of the albums, however, were instrumental only. There have even been certain albums released of particular groups alone, such as the Gene Krupa Trio at JATP and Oscar Peterson at Carnegie (this was a reality a Jazz at the Philharmonic concert). This is the first album of a vocalist doing a concert in album form.
