Recorded July 16, 1961. This album was formerly catalogued as Prestige 7294, as stated on the back cover.On label: "Distributed by Fantasy Records, Berkeley, California"
Present release 7826 is therefore not the original release, as also suggested by Levin's liner notes dated July, 1963, and a postscript mentioning Dolphy's death, June 29, 1964. Reissue must date after 1971, when Prestige was acquired by Fantasy Records.
